Serious traders keep a journal in a spreadsheet, and almost nobody reviews it. The client wanted an
app that took the record keeping away and gave back the part that changes behaviour: an honest
read on the patterns behind the losses.
The hard part was trust. Traders are sceptical of anything that sounds like a signal service, so the
product had to be clearly a mirror and not a tipster, and it had to never look like it was making
promises about future prices.
Trades come in from a connected account or a broker export and
are matched into positions automatically. The journal fills itself,
which is the only way a journal survives past week two.
A weekly read on your own habits
The app looks across your history and reports the behaviour, not
the market: the hour of day where you lose most, how often you
move a stop, what happens to your win rate after two losses in
a row.
You set the rules you intend to trade by. The app scores each
trade against your own plan and shows the compliance figure
next to the profit figure, which is usually the more uncomfortable
number.
We drew a hard line in the product: the AI may describe patterns in
the user own history and nothing else. It never mentions an
instrument, a direction or a forecast. That single rule made the tone
credible with experienced traders and kept the app clear of anything
resembling financial advice.
